Access to Canadian Wave Data
The following pages provide access to and visualization of wave data from buoys and models in the Canadian area of interest. Ancillary meteorological observations (wind speed/direction, air temperature, pressure) that may have been reported with the wave data is also available. Authoritative meteorological data is only available from the Meteorological Service of Canada (MSC).
Services and information
Search for, visualize and download wave buoy data.
MSC buoy status reports provide a detailed history of each platforms operational status and deployments. Daily reports are available from 1997.
CSV formats, FormatB for non-directional spectral wave data and the Co and Quad file format.
Hourly wind and wave time series data from MSC/Oceanweather hindcast models are available by request from Fisheries and Oceans.
